At MechanicAsk.com, our small but mighty team of ASE-certified mechanics takes pride in providing free, straightforward automotive repair guides. We’re looking for talented, motivated individuals to help us in our mission to empower DIY auto repair through education.

Mechanics

Our ideal mechanics have 3+ years of hands-on experience across vehicle makes and models. Primary duties include:

  • Research and write accurate, easy-to-follow repair guides and tutorials
  • Produce step-by-step instructions, supported by images/diagrams
  • Consult factory service manuals and validate procedures on actual vehicles
  • Review existing guides periodically to ensure information stays current

Must have: Technical writing skills, attention to detail, social media and internet savvy

Videographers

We need creative videographers to produce instructional repair videos for our guides. Responsibilities include:

  • Film mechanics performing repairs on vehicles from start to finish
  • Capture clear footage focused on each step of the process
  • Produce edited videos ready to embed within online guides
  • Add graphics, titles, voiceovers etc. to enhance instructional value

Must have: Professional camera equipment, video editing skills, creative eye

Support Specialists

Provide helpful, personalized support guiding DIYers through repairs. Day-to-day duties include:

  • Respond to repair assistance requests via web chat and email
  • Troubleshoot issues, walk through solutions, and answer questions
  • Provide tips and advice to complete stuck repairs successfully
  • Log support interactions, common issues, and resolutions

Must have: Auto repair experience, stellar written/verbal communication abilities
